Exton Cordingley

Associate Attorney

As an associate attorney with Yasmin L. Stump Law Group, PC (YLSLG), Exton focuses his practice in the areas of real estate transactions and litigation, including eminent domain or condemnation. Exton has an impressive background working in real estate transactions, regulatory affairs, health care regulation, litigation management and administrative law litigation in both the private and public sectors.

Prior to joining the YLSLG team, Exton worked for a real estate development company and was involved with the development of several notable commercial real estate projects, including the Carmel City Center, Carmel Old Town Shoppes and the Indiana Design Center, as well as the construction of the Carmel Performing Arts Center. In his previous positions, Exton gained extensive experience reviewing easements, rights of way, zoning and compliance matters for the development and construction of commercial and residential real estate projects, some of which were public-private joint ventures. These ventures provided him with the opportunity to work with leaders in local government, including city councils and economic development and zoning boards. Exton also performed due diligence on prospective development properties, including investigating and examining title, liens, environmental hazards and clean-up.

Previously, Exton served as the Director of the Indiana State Board of Nursing, in which he managed a staff of 20 employees who were responsible for the licensing and licensing compliance of more than 100,000 nurses in Indiana, as well as the accreditation of all schools of nursing in Indiana.

Most recently, Exton previously served as associate counsel for the Department of Veterans Affairs Board of Veteran’s Appeals in Washington, D.C. Exton was a Captain in the United States Army and has served both on active duty and as an active reservist. He has received numerous military honors and awards, including the Army Commendation Medal and the Army Reserves Overseas Training Medal.

In 2005, Exton earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Affairs from Indiana University in Bloomington. He earned his juris doctorate from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis in 2008.

In his spare time, Exton likes to play tennis, travel and follow IndyCar and Formula One auto racing.
